Zusammenfassung

Trotz der vielfältigen philosophischen und psychologischen Wurzeln sowie der genialen Therapiemethoden und Prozess-Beschreibungen fehlt der Gestalttherapie eine ganzheitliche Hintergrundtheorie des Menschseins. Diese theoretische Schwäche hat unter anderem dazu geführt, dass die Gestalttherapie meist nur durch ihr Neurose-modell und ihre erfahrungsorientierte Arbeitsweise definiert wird, und die Tiefe und Weite ihrer theoretischen Aussagen der Gestaltszene völlig verkannt werden und auch im wissenschaftlichen Bereich kaum Beachtung fi nden. Die Autorin stellt in dem Artikel ihre Motivations- und Persönlichkeitstheorie vor, die geeignet sein könnte, die Prozess-Theorie der Gestalttherapie um eine psychologische Hintergrundtheorie zur Struktur der Psyche zu erweitern.

Abstract

Concept of a Theory of Motivation and Personality in Gestalt Therapy. Despite its varied philosophical and psychological roots, congenial therapy methods and description of processes Gestalt Therapy lacks a holistic background theory of the human existence. This shortcoming of its theory has lead to the fact that Gestalt Therapy is mostly identifi ed through its model of neurosis and its experiential way of working, whereas the length and breadth of its theoretical underpinnings is widely unrecognised outside the Gestalt community and largely ignored by the scientific world. In this article the author presents her theory of motivation and personality which seems to be suited to expand the theory of process of Gestalt Therapy with a background theory of the structure of the psyche.
