Zusammenfassung

Dieser Artikel beschreibt Leben und Arbeit einer Gestalttherapeutin und Traumaspezialistin in der Phase gewalttätigen politischen Konflikts (1968–1998) wie darüber hinaus in der einer fortwährenden Dynamik unterworfenen Phase des Übergangs / des Friedensaufbau im Nordteil Irlands. Es handelt sich um einen persönlichen und historischen Bericht der Entwicklung als Psychotherapeutin als Teil einer Peer-geleiteten Unterstützungs- und Supervisionsstruktur (Gaffney 2013), die durch den Kontakt mit erfahrenen GestalttherapeutInnen und Somatic-Experience-TherapeutInnen in aller Welt bereichert wurde.

Abstract

›And Hope and History Rhyme.‹ Reflections on Working with Trauma in the North of Ireland. This article describes the experience of living and working as a Gestalt Psychotherapist and Trauma Specialist through a prolonged period of violent political conflict 1968–1998 and beyond in the period of Transition / Peace Building that is an ongoing dynamic in the north of Ireland. It is a personal and historic account of the development of a psychotherapist as part of a peer support and supervision structure (Gaffney 2013) and enriched through contact with senior Gestalt and Somatic Experiencing practitioners internationally.
