Zusammenfassung

In Form eines Briefes stellt der Autor dar, weshalb er die Formulierung „Arbeit mit Flüchtlingen“ nicht auf sich beziehen will. Sein Engagement für Flüchtende und der Bericht einer Kirchenbesetzung zeigen, dass es auf die Perspektive ankommt und insbesondere die eigene Position mit ihren Privilegien kritisch hinterfragt werden muss. Angesichts des europäischen Migrationsregimes stellt der Autor eine Krise des Humanismus fest und provoziert die Frage, wie sich eine allgemeine Dehumanisierung auf die Identität von Gestalttherapeut/innen auswirkt.

In regard to working with refugees –
A letter to the editor.
Using the form of a letter to the editors the author delineates why he doesn’t want to apply the phrase„working with refugees“ to himself. His involvement with refugees and his account of a church squatting show, that one’s perspective counts and in particular the questioning of one’s own privileged position. Looking at Europe’s hard handling of migration the author observes a crisis of humanism and asks the provocative question, how the general dehumanization changes the identity of Gestalt therapists.
