Zusammenfassung

Dieser erweiterte Festvortrag zum zwanzigjährigen Bestehen der Deutschen Vereinigung für Gestalttherapie (DVG) enthält drei Teile. Im ersten Teil wird ein gestalt-theoretisches Profil der DVG gezeichnet, das den Blick schärft für das, was es zu würdigen gibt, und das, was noch nicht erreicht ist. In einem zweiten, etwas ausführlicheren Teil, geht es um eine Analyse der herrschenden Widersprüche bei der Organisation von Gestalttherapie, also um die Gegensätze, die ein Unternehmen wie die DVG strukturell behindern. Der dritte Teil widmet sich einer Standortbestimmung der Gestalttherapie. Dieser Teil befasst sich mit drei Fragen: 1. Welche Bedeutung kommt der Gestalttherapie heute innerhalb unserer Gesellschaft zu; 2. Welche Rolle spielt sie in der psychotherapeutischen Landschaft heute und 3. Wie hat sie sich in den letzten zwei Jahrzehnten intern entwickelt. Am Schluss werden aus diesen Überlegungen die Konsequenzen gezogen und einige konkrete Empfehlungen für die Weiterarbeit der DVG abgeleitet.

Abstract

Gestalt therapy in the conflicting field of self organization and institutionalization — Reflecting on 20 years of the DVG. This article is the extended anniversary lecture and consists of three parts. Part one concentrates on a gestalt theoretical profile of the DVG and allows to bring that which has achieved and that which remains still to be done into focus. In part two the author elaborates on the analyses of existing contradictions in organizing Gestalt therapy, namely those contradictions, which pose structural obstacles to the DVG. Part three focuses on the positioning of Gestalt therapy. Thus three questions are being posed and discussed: 1) What is the impact of Gestalt therapy in current society; 2) What is its role within psychotherapy today; and 3) How has its internal development been within the last two decades. Finally some conclusions are being drawn from these reflections and mount into concrete recommendations for the further development of the DVG.
